The fourth Twenty20 International (T20I) between Pakistan and West Indies ended up being a no-contest as the touring side outclassed the hosts in all departments to take the series 3-1 on Sunday (April 2) at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. Unlike the popular case is in most T20Is where the bat dominates the ball, this contest was marked by a slightly unheard or unused word in the format – middle overs. After choking the hosts to a mediocre 124 and setting out to chase it down, the tourists romped home in a canter, winning the game by seven wickets with an over to spare.

All eyes were on Evin Lewis after Pakistan invited the hosts to bat first, but the danger was doused off as early as the third over when Imad Wasim drew first blood. Chadwick Walton went after the bowling, hitting as many as four sixes to hold the West Indies in good stead. But once Shadab Khan removed the wicketkeeper-batsman for his 31-ball 40, West Indies’ innings reared off into the dark.

Hasan Ali, who was bowling his second over, troubled Jason Mohammed throughout the over before sending him back on the final delivery with a sharp inswinging ball. When he came back to bowl his next over, Lendl Simmons and Marlon Samuels departed off back to back balls, leaving no scope for the hosts to recover from there. By the end of that over, Hasan Ali had bowled back to back maiden overs.

A flurry of dot balls in the middle overs, if they ever existed in this format, choked the West Indies and by the time, their skipper Carlos Brathwaite struck two sixes and two fours during his 24-ball 37, the West Indies had already done much damage to themselves to only end up with 124 for 8 in 20 overs. Having played out 66 dot balls in the innings, the hosts had pushed themselves against the wall and it would have needed an outstanding bowling effort to deny Pakistan the edge in reply.

On a wicket that was being used for the second time in as many days, Pakistan openers put together 40 runs, dismissing any debate about the slowness of the wicket, if at all. Once Kamran Akmal was dismissed after playing a smart hand of 20 runs, Ahmed Shehzad and Babar Azam got together for the best partnership of the match, stringing together 70 runs. The duo ran 30 of those runs, while finding the fence quite regularly.

Shehzad raised his 6th T20I fifty in the 16th over and with only 15 more needed to win, he shuffled across too much to be bowled around his legs. The other set batsman in Babar Azam followed his partner back into the hut, having added valuable 38 runs.

Shoaib Malik was joined in by skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and they completed the formalities without much hassles. Malik was dropped on 2 but he quickly redeemed himself to hit a four and take the visitors over the line. In the process, the former skipper also became the second-highest run-getter for Pakistan in the shortest format of the game.

Brief Scores: West Indies 124/8 in 20 overs (Chadwick Walton 40, Carlos Brathwaite 37*; Hasan Ali 2-12, Shadab Khan 2-16) lost to Pakistan 127/3 in 19 overs (Ahmed Shehzad 53, Babar Azam 38; Kesrick Williams 2-16) by seven wickets.

The credit goes to Venus, the 5th house lord which is retrograde and gets exalted in the 10th house in conjunction with natal Sun and Mercury. So, we will be able to see a sweet and funny performance from Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and also a good performance from the supporting casts.

Phillauri Review- Phillauri Box Office Prediction: Can Phillauri Movie 2017 Cross 100 Crore Mark?

Instead of having a good performance, Ganesha feels Phillauri is most likely to fail in proving its worth at the box office, foresees Ganesha. Moon, being the lord of the 2nd house of wealth, is placed in the 8th house, in its enemy sign. Plus, it is hemmed between two malefic planets. This combination indicates difficulties and struggles to accumulate money, says Ganesha. Plus, malefic Ketu’s presence in the 9th house further shows challenges to stay steadily at the box office.

Phillauri Review – Music and Performance:

Even though Phillauri Box Office Prediction might not be that inspiring, the lyrics and music of the movie are likely to touch the hearts of the youth, feels Ganesha since Venus is well placed in Ascendant in the navamsa chart. However, Venus is also retrograde in its exalted sign. Therefore, the dance or overall entertainment quotient may fail to appeal the youth. Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s performance will get mixed appreciations from the critics and audience.

Phillauri Review – Phillauri Overseas Performance: Can Phillauri be Hit at the Overseas Box Office?

The respective house lord of the 10th house of business and 12th house of abroad / overseas are retrograde and in opposition. Ganesha feels Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh’s Phillauri may have an average success abroad and may not be accumulating enough income through overseas business.

Since malefic Saturn is sitting in the 7th house of partnership in the movie’s release chart and also aspect the 7th house lord Jupiter, the movie may probably face some controversies post release but it may not affect any of the cast’s future (including Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh) since Sun is well placed in the 10th house.

Phillauri Astrological Review – The Final Verdict:

Ganesha feels Phillauri will have mixed reviews from the critics as well as the viewers. However, Anushka Sharma’s second production Phillauri is likely to charm the audience through its performance but may not be a superhit at the box office.

JEDEC’s DDR5 standard will double bandwidth and density

The JEDEC Solid State Technology Association has announced that development of the DDR5 standard is “moving forward rapidly.” The standards body said DDR5 memory will provide double the bandwidth and density versus current generation DDR4. This, in turn, will result in improved performance with greater power efficiency.

The standard will also feature a more user-friendly interface for server and client platforms, we’re told.

Mian Quddus, Chairman of the JEDEC board of directors, said in a press release that increased server performance requirements are driving the need for advanced technologies and the standardization of next generation memory such as DDR5 will be essential to fulfilling those needs.

As The Tech Report recalls, JEDEC first started talking about DDR3 in May 2005 ahead of the first products hitting the scene in 2007. Similarly, JEDEC published the final specifications for DDR4 in September 2012 with support finding its way into consumer products in the second half of 2014.

JEDEC is also developing NVDIMM-P (Non-Volatile Dual Inline Memory Module, Persistent), a new high-capacity memory module that retains content after power is cut (kind of like Intel’s Optane memory).

More information on the DDR5 and NVDIMM-P standards will be shared at JEDEC’s Server Forum event in Santa Clara on June 19. The standards body said it aims to publish the design for DDR5 sometime in 2018.

Sukant Kadam breaks into top-10 of world para-badminton rankings in singles

Sukant Kadam Sukant Kadam

Pune-based Sukant Kadam has broken into the Top-10 of the BWF Para-Badminton World Rankings. A trainnee from the Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (NKBA), Sukant leapfrogged twelve places to the No 8 rank in singles of the ‘SL4’ class, according to the world rankings released on March 28, 2017.

Sukant’s rise has primarily been due to the bronze medal winning performance at the Spanish Para-Badminton International 2017 held in Majorca, Spain recently. His performance in Europe earned him 30 points and swelled his total points tally to 68.5 points. Sukant is one among the three Indians to be in the Top 10. The others are Haryana’s Tarun Dhillon (world ranking 3) and Uttar Pradesh’s Suhas L Y, who currently holds the 4th rank.

Ashes of the Singularity, DOTA 2 optimized for AMD Ryzen CPUs

AMD revitalized a stale consumer CPU market earlier this month with the launch of its Ryzen platform. The company’s first few chips offered incredibly impressive performance as it relates to multi-threaded productivity and content creation workloads but fell a bit short on the gaming side.

Such was not all that surprising considering it’s a brand new platform and there are still kinks to be worked out. What’s more, AMD has had very little time to work with developers to optimize performance on popular titles such as Ashes of the Singularity.

With regard to this title specifically, AMD has spent the past few weeks working with the teams at Stardock and Oxide Games to boost Ryzen performance. The result is a new build of the game (v2.11.x) out on Steam today that AMD claims is up to 30 percent faster on the Ryzen 1800X processor.

There’s also a new major update (v2.20.x) coming soon that’ll introduce things like game replays, mod support, three new maps and a number of balance tweaks according to AMD’s Robert Hallock.

Also of note are some changes that were introduced in the March 20 update for DOTA 2 designed to boost the game’s minimum framerates. In AMD’s 1080p testing, they’re getting minimum framerates that are roughly 15 percent higher than before on the Ryzen 1800X. This, Hallock, notes, lowers input latency by around 1.7ms.

Last but not least, AMD will soon be distributing AMD Generic Encapsulated Software Architecture (AGESA) point release to motherboard partners. BIOS based on this AGESA, which should arrive in early April, will offer four key improvements to end-users as outlined below:

We have reduced DRAM latency by approximately 6ns. This can result in higher performance for latency-sensitive applications.

We resolved a condition where an unusual FMA3 code sequence could cause a system hang.

We resolved the “overclock sleep bug” where an incorrect CPU frequency could be reported after resuming from S3 sleep.

AMD Ryzen Master no longer requires the High-Precision Event Timer (HPET).

This is only the start, Hallock says, as AMD will have an update ready by May that’ll focus on DDR4 memory overclocking.

Matthew Wade’s sledging helped Ravindra Jadeja deliver Man of the Match performance

Dharamsala: Australia wicketkeeper Matthew Wade’s sledging from behind the stumps motivated all-rounder Ravidra Jadeja to produce a Man of the Match performance against Australia in the Dharamsala Test.

The southpaw took four wickets, and also scored a crucial 63 in India ’s first innings of the Dharamsala Test, to help the home side clinch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.

Jadeja had come in to bat, at a time, when India were struggling at 221 for six, in their first innings; they were still trailing Australia by 79 runs. However, the 28-year-old put up a 96-run partnership with wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, to take India to a commanding position.

“When I batted, I was thinking to take my time and then Matthew Wade chirped from behind. That motivated me. If I can respond to him with runs, it will be great,” said Jadeja during the post match presentation ceremony.

“Coaches and captain have been telling me I have the skill to bat long. I developed as a player overall,” he said. “Some time ago people didn’t consider me a Test bowler. This season is a good response to them.”

When asked about his bowling partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja said that the spin twins have been so successful, because they have the ability to maintain pressure from both the ends.
