PV Sindhu and Carolina Marin are once again set to play against each other. The last time they played, a match that went unnoticed, was at the Dubai World Superseries finals. The Indian beat Marin in straight sets. But, their meeting before this match is the one which is remembered most. There is a lot of talk about it before the two face each other at the India Open Superseries in New Delhi. Here are the head to head battles between Sindhu and Marin.

Dubai World Superseries Finals WS (December, 2016)

This was the first time since the Rio Olympics final that the two were facing each other. Marin had some injury problems during and after Rio Games and that reflected in her game as she went down 17-21, 13-21 against Sindhu, who was growing in confidence.

Rio Olympics 2016 (August, 2016)

Biggest of them all, Sindhu and Marin were part of the Games women’s singles final. Sindhu won the first game but lost the second. Marin then showed why she was the world number one at that time. She dominated the final set and won the gold medal by winning 19-21, 21-12, 21-15.

Hong Kong Open (November, 2015)

Marin was the top seeded player in Hong Kong and she played like one. The Spaniard did not give Sindhu a chance and completed a straight sets win 21-17, 21-9

Denmark Open (October, 2015)

The ticking point for Sindhu and Marin rivalry might have been in Denmark. Marin had defeated Sindhu in their previous three meetings but this time the Indian roared back and won the battle in three games 15-21 21-18 17-21

Syed Modi International (January, 2015)

For the first time in India, Marin met Sindhu. But it was not the perfect outing for the Indian as she lost 21-13 21-13 against the Spaniard who won bettered her head-to-head record against Sindhu to 3-1

World Championships (August 2014)

A big match between Marin and Sindhu at the 2014 World Championships. Marin went on to become the world champion after beating Sindhu 21-17 21-15 in the semi-finals

Star Australian Badminton Open (June, 2014)

The second meeting between the two was where Marin made it 1-1 in head-to-head battle. Marin was unseeded while Sindhu was seeded eighth in the competition but still lost 21-17 21-17

Maldives International Badminton Challenge 2011

This was the first meeting between Marin and Sindhu and it was the Indian who came out on top in three games. Marin lost to Sindhu 7-21 21-15 13-21

Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal: An epic final at Miami Open

Before the Australia Open this year, tennis fans were wishing for a Roger Federer against Rafael Nadal final. One last time. World number one Andy Murray and number two Novak Djokovic lost before reaching the quarter-finals. Federer vs Nadal in a Grand Slam final was a big possibility now as two of the best players on the tour had lost. And it did happen.

At the final, the fans had their wish. Federer and Nadal had played each other in a Slam final after long. But they were in for a surprise. Both met in the third round of the Indian Wells last and now at the Miami Open final.

Both are playing each other for the third time this year and it feels like old times. The previous two meetings between the two this year were won by Federer and he will look to make it a hat-trick of wins whereas Nadal will like to stop the streak.

Here’s how the two fared in their previous two meetings:

Australia Open 2017 Final: Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal

It was this match that everyone had waited for. After long Federer and Nadal were playing each other on the second Sunday of a Slam. First set, Federer made it look easy and pocketed it 6-4. But, the power of Nadal was on displated as he levelled it 1-1 by winning the second set 6-3. Now, Federer rolled back years and in a display of amazing tennis, he won the third set 6-1. Federer was favourite to win the title won. Crowd was cheering for the Swiss. They all love him. But as Nadal would have done any giving day, he won the fourth set and forced a decider. There was no way an aging Federer was going to win against a beast like Nadal in the fifth set. Nadal was ripping through Federer with his forehand and Federer’s backhand were returned with ease. Nadal broke Federer. Federer broke Nadal. Nadal broke Federer. Federer broke Nadal but in the end Federer completed a hold and won the final set 6-3 to win the match and his 18th Grand Slam title

Indian Wells 2017: Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal 6-2, 6-3

It was a straight set shocker for Nadal as he was beaten 2-6 3-6 in the fourth round by Federer. An aggressive Federer eased past Nadal and later went on to win the title as well. Nadal rarely looked in control of any point as Federer kept growing in confidence. When Nadal was serving to stay in the match, he served it right into the net and handed two match points to Federer who won the game on the first itself.

CBSE exams 2017: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Accountancy paper for class 12 today. The students have found the test to be lengthy and tricky. Most examinees complained that there were many unexpected questions.

“There was an eight marker question on journal entries that took up a lot of time. I had filled in three pages of tables by the time I was done with that question,” said Ayush Malik, a class 12 student from Mayur School, Noida. He added that there were a number of questions that were above average.

Students said that in many of the previous years’ papers there were one or two tricky questions. This year, however, students had to struggle through more number of questions of the higher lever.

“The paper was a little lengthy compared to the previous years because there were questions in the one-two marks section which actually had answers meant for three or four markers. That made us need to write and think more than usual,” said Sanya Gupta, from Ryan International School, Noida.

Students said that the difficulty was “average to high” for the four, six and eight marker questions. They added that there were a number of questions that required them to think of and figure out the different concepts and many found that they were spending too much time on such questions.

“When I was practising for the boards, I had gone through many mock tests and previous years’ papers, but I had always managed to finish a half an hour early. This time, I was writing the paper till the last minute and I had absolutely no time to revise,” says Palak Bhandari, from RIS, Noida.

Overall, the accountancy paper was taken to be more difficult than usual, filled with questions that students did not expect and lengthy.
