The mid-air fight between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover has snowballed into a full-fledged controversy. The audience and fans earlier speculated that all the brouhaha might just be a public gimmick to breathe new life into the show. Even as controversies kept piling around the show, we saw a confident Kapil endeavouring to hold the show together. The comedian-actor not only invited ace comedians including Raju Srivastav and Sunil Pal but also took a dig at that infamous brawl on the flight, during the last episode. But, in this whole saga of Kapil Sharma vs Sunil Grover, Kapil seems to be paying the price of the whole controversy.

The show has witnessed a steep fall in week 12 (March 18-24), according to a data released by BARC. In week 12, the show has witnessed around 5.3 million impressions in comparison to 6 million impressions during the last week. There’s more. The show is out of the top 10 Indian TV shows ranking. It now stands at number 11. The top five shows include – Naagin Season 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kumkum Bhagya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Shani. In the last week, The Kapil Sharma Show had secured a fourth place behind only Naagin Season 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kumkum Bhagya and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. During the last three months of 2017, the show has been able to maintain a healthy 6.4 million impressions.

The show also saw a huge plummet in YouTube viewings. The last episode of March titled – Stand Up Comedians In Kapil’s Show, saw around 3,984,158 YouTube views, which is quite low in comparison to its previous episodes. What’s more stark is the number of dislikes on the episode. It recorded a staggering 117,705 dislikes in comparison to only 28,029 likes on the same episode. These figures suggest a huge shift in the mood of the audience.

‘PMC to raise money from bond market’

THE PUNE Municipal Corporation (PMC) is in a comfortable position to enter the bond market after the credit rating agency Finch has given the prestigious AA+ rating to the 24×7 water supply project. Municipal Commissioner Kunal Kumar said Finch’s rating will help the PMC to raise money from the markets. The 24×7 water supply project, which aims to manage equitable water distribution in the city, Kumar said, had been accorded the AA+ rating and can go to the market to raise funds through bond. “PMC has earlier been given AA+ rating so our chances are better,” he said.

The last financial year, Kumar said, just about Rs 1,300 crore has been raised through municipal bonds by other civic bodies while Rs 4 lakh crore has been raised through corporate bonds, he said. Following the change in SEBI guidelines about disclosure norms, approaching the bond market will be easy. “Along with the PMC, the municipal corporation of Vishakhapatnam and Ahmedabad were also interested in raising bonds. While Vishakhapatnam has dropped out of the race, Ahmedabad had issues with their accounting norms,” he said. Ahmedabad’s accounting was not in accordance with the National Accounting Manual so they are in the process of getting it changed. Luckily, for PMC, its accounting norms, Kumar said, was in accordance with the National Accounting Manual so its claim stood well.

Of the Rs 3,300 crore needed for the project, Kumar said, the civic body aims to raise around Rs 2,600 crore from the bond market. “With our ratings the PMC’s bond is expected to fetch around 8 per cent returns. We have chalked out our plan on how and when we will be raising the money and SBI capital is the company we will be dealing with,” he said. Before approaching the market, the PMC has to get permissions from the state and central government, he said.

After ‘killing’ Ram Gopal Varma, Pawan Kalyan fans attack TV anchor for giving Katamarayudu poor rating

A TV anchor was beaten up by fans for poorly rating Pawan Kalyan’s film Katamarayudu. The studio was also trashed. A TV anchor was beaten up by fans for poorly rating Pawan Kalyan’s film Katamarayudu. The studio was also trashed.

The fans of Power star Pawan Kalyan are a force to reckon with. While fans of Bollywood stars (cue the famous Shah Rukh Khan fan clubs vs Salman Khan fan clubs rivalries) play out their love and hatred on social media, fans down south are not afraid to take it out in the real world. Recently, two fans of Pawan Kalyan assaulted a TV anchor for giving Katamarayudu ‘poor rating’ of three out of five. Katamarayudu released last Friday amid serious fan hysteria and after Pawan’s last film Sardar Gabbar Singh was said to be a disappointment.

The fans had been invited by Mana TV studio, a local Telugu channel, to participate in a discussion on Katamarayudu. After the discussion finished, the two approached the anchor and questioned him regarding the rating. In the video we can see the fans manhandling the anchor and asking him, “what did you say about the film? Who are you to rate it?”. They even tried to destroy the studio property. Before the crew of the channel got the situation under control, they trashed the sets and even broke water bottles. The entire episode has been captured on camera and the video has been going viral ever since.

Check what happened when a News Anchor gave bad reviews for Katamarayudu

Katamarayudu, a remake of Ajith’s film Veeram, has been doing stupendous business at the box office despite getting mixed reviews from critics. The film keeps Pawan’s massive fanbase in mind as it portrays him as a hot-headed village chief from the Rayalaseema region. The film focusses on the famous faction genre that Telugu cinema has often tried its hands on.

However, this is not the face-off that Pawan Kalyan’s fans are at present dealing with. They are also having a Twitter spat with Ram Gopal Varma after he slammed Katamarayudu. RGV had tweeted close to film’s release, “Making film in 30cr selling at 100cr taking in pocket 70cr n enjoying daughters’ bday is no less than Nero playing Fidel when Rome burning… His lafoot outward fans distracting him from realising his real strength is inward fans who don’t shout and throw paper in theatres.” RGV, never one to mince his words, also wrote, “His fans 3 to 5 followers including family members won’t take one rupee out of pocket but have opinions on crores of losses of others… I heard Hollywood’s Disney,Fox nd Miramax are desperate to sign him after seeing KR but he only wants to power himself with the Sena of Jana.”

In their answer, Pawan Kalyan fans started #RIPRGV hashtag. Varma was ready with his answer, “Just now his fans association president told reason why even fans not watching is becos they are saving money to watch BB2 multiple times.” In a hard to decipher tweet, he also wrote, “Illiterate sheep not realising I died 3 births back n now it’s my ghost which is alive n ghosts can’t die bcos they live forever in death😎.”

As far as performance of the film is concerned, the film which released on March 24, has been able to surpass the record made by Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, Khaidi No 150.
