IPL 2017: In season of injuries, Rohit Sharma wants to put his season of injury behind

Rather than thinking what has happened, it is better to think how I am going to make myself ready. That is how I was thinking about all the time.”

Rohit Sharma Rather than thinking what has happened, it is better to think how I am going to make myself ready. That is how I was thinking about all the time.”Rohit Sharma

THE BUILD-UP to IPL 10 so far has been more about those who’ll miss out rather than those who will grace the stage for the big anniversary edition of the T20 extravaganza. But one familiar face will be using the glitzy platform to make a return to big-ticket cricket after a five-month layoff. And Rohit Sharma, who’s led Mumbai Indians to two title triumphs in the last five years, on Sunday sounded both relieved and excited to be back.

This was his first media appearance since suffering a harrowing injury back in late October, and we’re at a posh South Mumbai hotel where he’s flanked by new coach and fellow batting stylist, Mahela Jayawardene. But ask him about the injury and you can almost see him cringe while recalling the moment when he realized his home season was more or less done with. It led to him having to undergo thigh surgery in London that robbed him off some considerable playing time at a crucial stage in his international career. So much so that the sound that he heard while scrambling across for a single during the final ODI of the India-New Zealand series in Vizag, is still very vivid in his memory.

“I was scared when that happened. It’s something which has never happened to me. I heard a very loud noise while taking a run. I was a little scared until we got an MRI done, I did not know what to expect and what it was. But once everything was clear, once the days passed by, we spoke to a lot of doctors around the world and with Patrick (Farhart, the Indian team physio) as well, they all gave me the confidence saying it was not a major problem, it’s just a small injury that you need to go through,” he said.

A lot has changed since Rohit limped off around the time the lengthy home season was just about getting warmed up. India won every series across all formats, and consolidated their reign at the top of Test cricket for starters. A number of Australian players aren’t Kohli’s “friends” anymore and India has a new triple centurion, one who might not have played if Rohit had been fit. In many ways, Rohit will have to start afresh and the IPL, a tournament that he’s taken by storm with the bat very often, could be just the stage he needs to make his presence felt again. Rohit will obviously be a shoo-in for the Indian squad that will travel to England to defend the Champions Trophy in June. But having started off with a special series against New Zealand, which was one of his best in Test cricket, missing out on 10 Tests must have been debilitating, especially since he’s yet to make the longer format his own.

So it was only natural for him to not take too kindly to his rehab stint at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore being referred to as a “holiday” by one reporter. “I was not on holiday. I was in Bangalore (National Cricket Academy) if you want to call that as a holiday destination then you may,” he said before adding, “Most important thing at that moment is your mind-set. Rather than thinking what has happened, it is better to think how I am going to make myself ready. That is how I was thinking about all the time. It was tough to sit in the hotel room, watching the team play. It is always tough. But I guess you have to go through it. I have been through it many times before. These things happen. I was only focusing on how quicker I can get back on to the field.”

While most of the interaction was dominated by queries and responses to how Mumbai Indians are preparing and hoping to fare in the tenth edition of the IPL; the more poignant moments surrounded their long-standing captain’s inopportune injury and how he’s coped with it. But he didn’t quite agree with a suggestion that the layoff had set his career back a few steps. Said Rohit, “I don’t think so. I am just 29. Injuries are part and parcel. Five months of missing cricket does not do any bad. These things are bound to happen. Even in future, these things will happen. The focus is always on, if you get injures, to stay strong and come back stronger. I am looking forward. There is so much cricket coming up.”

Ganesha has come up with the latest Phillauri Review with some interesting box office predictions including Phillauri review, Phillauri cast Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh and their performance and Phillauri Box Office collection Prediction. Let’s check it out.

Phillauri Review: Phillauri Box Office Prediction

Phillauri Review – Will Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh’s Phillauri Rock at the Box Office?

Good news for those who are expecting to watch some fabulous performance from the beloved Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh. The credit goes to Venus, the 5th house lord which is retrograde and gets exalted in the 10th house in conjunction with natal Sun and Mercury. So, we will be able to see a sweet and funny performance from Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh and also a good performance from the supporting casts.

Phillauri Review- Phillauri Box Office Prediction: Can Phillauri Movie 2017 Cross 100 Crore Mark?

Instead of having a good performance, Ganesha feels Phillauri is most likely to fail in proving its worth at the box office, foresees Ganesha. Moon, being the lord of the 2nd house of wealth, is placed in the 8th house, in its enemy sign. Plus, it is hemmed between two malefic planets. This combination indicates difficulties and struggles to accumulate money, says Ganesha. Plus, malefic Ketu’s presence in the 9th house further shows challenges to stay steadily at the box office.

Know Your Business Prospects With 2017 Business Report

Phillauri Review – Music and Performance:

Even though Phillauri Box Office Prediction might not be that inspiring, the lyrics and music of the movie are likely to touch the hearts of the youth, feels Ganesha since Venus is well placed in Ascendant in the navamsa chart. However, Venus is also retrograde in its exalted sign. Therefore, the dance or overall entertainment quotient may fail to appeal the youth. Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s performance will get mixed appreciations from the critics and audience.

Phillauri Review – Phillauri Overseas Performance: Can Phillauri be Hit at the Overseas Box Office?

The respective house lord of the 10th house of business and 12th house of abroad / overseas are retrograde and in opposition. Ganesha feels Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh’s Phillauri may have an average success abroad and may not be accumulating enough income through overseas business.

How Will Your 2017 Be? Get To Know With 2017 Yearly Report

Phillauri Review – Will Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh face any controversies?

Since malefic Saturn is sitting in the 7th house of partnership in the movie’s release chart and also aspect the 7th house lord Jupiter, the movie may probably face some controversies post release but it may not affect any of the cast’s future (including Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh) since Sun is well placed in the 10th house.

Phillauri Astrological Review – The Final Verdict:

Ganesha feels Phillauri will have mixed reviews from the critics as well as the viewers. However, Anushka Sharma’s second production Phillauri is likely to charm the audience through its performance but may not be a superhit at the box office.

Get Career Guidance With Career Ask A Question

Ganesha wishes good luck for Phillauri and a bright future ahead of its lead actors Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, other star casts, and the producers.

The Kapil Sharma Show: Sunil Grover’s absence has affected the rating so badly, it is not even in top 10 anymore

The Kapil Sharma show has witnessed a steep fall in week 12 (March 18-24), according to a data released by BARC. The Kapil Sharma show has witnessed a steep fall in week 12 (March 18-24), according to a data released by BARC.

The mid-air fight between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover has snowballed into a full-fledged controversy. The audience and fans earlier speculated that all the brouhaha might just be a public gimmick to breathe new life into the show. Even as controversies kept piling around the show, we saw a confident Kapil endeavouring to hold the show together. The comedian-actor not only invited ace comedians including Raju Srivastav and Sunil Pal but also took a dig at that infamous brawl on the flight, during the last episode. But, in this whole saga of Kapil Sharma vs Sunil Grover, Kapil seems to be paying the price of the whole controversy.

The show has witnessed a steep fall in week 12 (March 18-24), according to a data released by BARC. In week 12, the show has witnessed around 5.3 million impressions in comparison to 6 million impressions during the last week. There’s more. The show is out of the top 10 Indian TV shows ranking. It now stands at number 11. The top five shows include – Naagin Season 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kumkum Bhagya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Shani. In the last week, The Kapil Sharma Show had secured a fourth place behind only Naagin Season 2, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kumkum Bhagya and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. During the last three months of 2017, the show has been able to maintain a healthy 6.4 million impressions.

The show also saw a huge plummet in YouTube viewings. The last episode of March titled – Stand Up Comedians In Kapil’s Show, saw around 3,984,158 YouTube views, which is quite low in comparison to its previous episodes. What’s more stark is the number of dislikes on the episode. It recorded a staggering 117,705 dislikes in comparison to only 28,029 likes on the same episode. These figures suggest a huge shift in the mood of the audience.

Sunil Grover brings Dr Mashoor Gulati to Delhi, ignores Kapil Sharma completely. See pics, videos

From Dr Mashoor Gulati to Rinku Bhabhi and even Gutthi, actor-comedian Sunil Grover donned all his famous characters to make the Delhi audience laugh. From Dr Mashoor Gulati to Rinku Bhabhi and even Gutthi, actor-comedian Sunil Grover donned all his famous characters to make the Delhi audience laugh.

It wasn’t like any other Saturday, even as the plummeting temperatures of capital New Delhi couldn’t deter hundreds of Delhiites who, despite standing in long queues outside the Talkatora Indoor Stadium for hours, had just one thing in mind – to find a place that gives them the best view of the stage. No, there was no Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan coming to entertain this enthusiastic audience of Delhi. It was their much more favourite, Dr. Mashoor Gulati aka Sunil Grover, who was in the city to tickle their funnybones, that too on the day that is dedicated to laughter – April 1.

It was the best Sunil Grover could give to his massive fanbase, after weeks of staying in news and playing hide-and-seek with them. The actor-comedian brought his comedy clinic to Delhi to treat his admirers who were missing his hilarious ECG and blood tests, but at the same time wanted him to talk about his co-star Kapil Sharma and the infamous spat with him. To the disappointment of many, Sunil refrained from commenting anything on the ongoing controversy. But, what he gave the audience instead, will remain in their memories for a long long time.

Sunil Grover got on the stage in his signature style, picking his character of Rinku Bhabhi at first. He was joyous and received a huge applause from the massive crowd that had gathered to catch his glimpse after a long time. “It is so good to meet and greet people who are not talking about any controversy, otherwise I was tired of hearing the same questions for last few days,” said Sunil, who was accompanied by his onscreen partner-in-crime and co-actor from The Kapil Sharma Show – Kiku Sharda.

Sunil also left the audience in splits as Dr. Mashoor Gulati and later, as his most famous avatar of Gutthi. Yes, Sunil did all that he could to bring a smile on the faces of everyone, but many surely missed his funny banters with companion Kapil Sharma.

Meanwhile, the organisers of the show who had planned this event days before the two friends had a brawl, were interestingly pleased that the fight happened. Talking to indianexpress.com, the organiser of the show, Rajat Taneja said he was happy about the entire Kapil-Sunil fiasco as it made Sunil Grover, a national hero, and thus making his Delhi show, a super hit even before it commenced. “I have benefited from the Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover fight. People were missing Sunil on television so they are here to catch up with their favourite comedian,” said Rajat Taneja.

By the end of the show when a few members of the audience shouted Kapil Sharma’s name, Sunil ignored them and signed off by saying, “The sole reason I am here is to meet my fans as you get a chance to see us on TV but we never get such an opportunity ever.”

He also clicked a selfie with the crowd in the background, and promised to tweet it. “I will post this picture on Twitter tonight. Kabhi Kabhi achi cheezein bhi daalni chaiye Twitter pe (Sometimes, we should also post good things on Twitter),” Sunil said.

Check out some videos of Sunil Grover as he performed in Delhi.

Well, there is no need to explain what he meant to say by this statement. His recent tweets for Kapil Sharma are still fresh in the memory of his fans. We hope to see Sunil Grover back on television, real soon. Delhi already misses him!

India-Australia series was the best of all: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the skipper of MI in IPL. (Source: PTI) Rohit Sharma is the skipper of MI in IPL. (Source: PTI)

Praising the highly competitive nature of the recently concluded four-Test series between India and Australia, fit-again batsman Rohit Sharma felt it was the best among the four home rubbers this season.

“The last series against the Australians was the best among the 3-4 series at home because of the way it went through from the first Test. Losing the first Test and then bouncing back to win two Test matches (to win the series 2-1) was a fantastic effort (by India),” said Sharma in Mumbai on Sunday.

The flamboyant batsman, who played in the first of the three Test rubber against New Zealand before getting injured in the ODI game against the Kiwis at Vizag to miss the rest of the Test season, said the beauty of the series was the fact that different individuals came through to fill the gaps and performed well too.

“It was not about one individual; a lot of guys came in at different times, took up the challenge and performed, which is why it was the best series. The wickets were not easy and were challenging for batters. It was wonderful to watch from outside.”

He insisted that although both teams fought hard they never crossed the limits vis-a-vis player behaviour and felt some incidents were blown out of proportion.

“India-Australia series have always seen good rivalry over the years and I was not surprised at what happened. When you play against a top side in the world, these things are bound to happen. As long as one remembers not to cross limits it’s good. “It was a hard-fought battle and some things were blown out of proportion. Players know what needs to be done on and off field,” he concluded.

The series was bitterly fought and there was a lot of verbal duels indulged by both the teams’ players right through the four-game rubber that ended with India’s series triumph at Dharamsala last month-end.

The Kapil Sharma Show has got a month ultimatum from the channel to resolve its issues?

Kapil Sharma’s show is apparently in trouble due to the fight between Kapil and Sunil Grover. Kapil Sharma’s show is apparently in trouble due to the fight between Kapil and Sunil Grover.

There seems to be no end to the trouble in the paradise of Kapil Sharma and his show The Kapil Sharma Show. The channel has apparently given an ultimatum to the actor-comedian to get his mess sorted, else the show would be scrapped. Interestingly, the show’s renewal, involving a whopping Rs 106-crore deal, is due this month. But, it has been put on hold for now.

According to a Times of India report, the channel has given Kapil Sharma a month time to bring things back on track, only then will it think about continuing with the show.

As per a data released by BARC, the show has witnessed a steep fall in its week 12 (March 18-24), so much so, that it is out of the top 10 Indian TV shows ranking. It now stands at number 11. The TRP of the show have been affected ever since the fight between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover came to light. Also, co-actors Chandan Prabhakar and Ali Asgar, apart from Sunil, have not trained up for its shooting ever since the team returned from their Australia tour.

Kapil has been trying to fill the void of the trio, by bringing new members in his team. Recently, Raju Shrivastav confirmed that he will be a part of the show but he has not replaced Sunil. Well, we are still skeptical if that is true.

When the fight started, Kapil was very confident of getting Sunil back on the show, but he has failed to do that till now. There have been reports that Sunil was even offered a whopping amount of money to return. But he chose to play his famous characters of Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi on different shows and stage performances.

However, Sunil has been avoiding media and refraining from speaking anything on his comeback or future plans. The last reaction that we got from him was a letter he posted for Kapil on Twitter, asking him to be more compassionate towards his colleagues.
